Year after year, Coachella continues to raise the bar as it is charged with kicking off the summer music festival circuit. As the most-sought-after ticket in the country, Coachella has a reputation for drawing in the biggest acts in the business and 2018 was no exception. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held over two weekends in April in the desert of Indio, Califonia. Here is a look at this year’s highlights:

BEYONCE
Not surprising to anyone, Beyonce topped the Coachella performance list in 2018. Headlining the main stage on Saturday evening, Beyonce left no stone unturned as she dazzled the audience with current hits and past favorites. And despite being able to easily command a stage on her own, she still invited numerous guests up to join her, including her husband Jay-Z and her former band Destiny’s Child.

WHETHAN AND MASON RAMSEY
The festival kicked off with a bang when DJ and producer Whethan surprised the growing audience by trotting out the adorable yodeling sensation, Mason Ramsey. The precocious 11-year-old from Golconda, Illinois delighted the audience with his yodeling act, made famous at his hometown Walmart.

ODEZSA
The Seattle-based electronic duo took the stage on both Sunday evenings, showing why they are one of the leading acts of the genre in the world. The show’s highlight was a specially-created electrical light show which lit up the sky as the band performed. Created by Hewlett-Packard, the drone show was the first of its kind at a musical festival.

EMINEM
The iconic rapper can still thrill an audience after all these years. Because of that indisputable fact, he was chosen to close out each weekend, performing each Sunday night on the main stage. It was not easy to follow Beyonce’s Saturday night performances or the Odezsa light show spectacular, but Eminem was up to the task, turning in a powerful and commanding effort.

CARDI B
Rising rap star Cardi B electrified the audience in her Coachella debut. Just one week after confirming her pregnancy on Saturday Night Live, she took the stage and flaunted both her baby bump and her unique style. Her fiance, Offset, also performed at the festival over the weekend, making it truly a family affair.
